Next-generation BOBST Flexo-Folder-Gluer chosen by Manor Packaging

Manor Packaging, Peterborough based independent corrugated packaging manufacturer, part of the Fencor Group, is preparing to take delivery of a new Bobst 8.20 Discovery — the first of the next-generation Flexo folder gluers to be installed in the UK.

A division of Fencor Packaging Group, Manor Packaging chose the machine to further enhance their service to customers. One of the biggest advantages is the set up time – at just two minutes the BOBST delivers an average time saving of 87% over previous set up times. The flexo folder gluer also has a very impressive productivity rate processing up to 18,000 boxes per hour across a broad range of corrugated flute sizes. Its high efficiency and ability to consistently maintain accuracy means that the FFG 8.20 Discovery will integrate perfectly into existing workflows. Delivering fully automated, high-quality folding, it is an extremely user-friendly machine with a very intuitive interface. It can be controlled by two operators and is highly robust, with low maintenance needs. It will certainly bring great additional value to the Manor Packaging supply chain which means greater benefits for customers.

David Orr, Group Managing Director of Fencor Packaging Group, commented, “A big part of our philosophy is continuous investment to keep pace with the evolving needs of our customers. The decision to invest in this new casemaker for Manor Packaging is firmly in line with this thinking.”

BU Sheet Fed Sales Manager at Bobst UK & Ireland, Stuart Alvey-Taylor, said, “We are delighted to work with Manor Packaging to deliver the first 8.20 Discovery in the country.”
